The Canal de Pierre Dimanche mountain biking route is a 12.8-kilometre circular trail starting in Molines-en-Queyras. It follows a canal that supplied the villages of Molines-en-Queyras and Ville Vieille with water for centuries.

Molines Sensation offers a 1,100-metre-long track with a 740-metre descent, hairpin bends and twists.

Culture

The former Canal de Rouchas-Frach irrigated the meadows of Fontgillarde and Le Coin for more than seven centuries. The local residents created an educational and artistic presentation of the former Canal de Rouchas-Frach. The experience surrounding the former Canal de Rouchas-Frach has been included in the inventory of intangible cultural heritage.

The Church of Saint-Romain was rebuilt after its destruction during the Wars of Religion between 1628 and 1637. Inside, it features impressive Baroque furnishings from the late 17th century.

The village of Molines-en-Queyras and its hamlets have preserved traditional architecture featuring fuste and caset.

Nature

The panorama of Molines-en-Queyras encompasses expansive landscapes with alternating alpine meadows and larch forests. The “Sur les traces des chamois” trail passes through larch forests and alpine meadows and offers the opportunity to observe chamois.

The Pain de Sucre is an emblematic peak of the Queyras on the border between France and Italy, reached via a wild alpine route.
