Culture

The Musée Napoléon is one of the two museums in Luz-Saint-Sauveur. The Musée du Trésor displays sacred works of art; the oldest exhibits date from the 13th century.

The Église fortifiée dite des Templiers, also known as the Église des Templiers, was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and features medieval fortification elements. These include traces of a drawbridge, battlements, loopholes, and two towers. One of them is called Arsenal, while the other served as a keep and now bears a clock.

The Chapelle de Solférino was rebuilt on the site of a medieval hermitage dedicated to Saint Peter. On the occasion of Napoleon III and Eugénie de Montijo's visit to Luz-Saint-Sauveur in 1859, Napoleon III is said to have been asked for support. Construction was completed in 1863. The monograms N and E of the imperial couple can still be seen there today.
