In the Fontpédrouse valley, the Bains thermaux de Saint-Thomas are located in a stone amphitheatre at an altitude of 1,150 m. A natural sulphurous spring emerges there at 58 °C; the complex has three outdoor thermal-water pools.

If you are planning a trip to Fontpédrouse, you will want to find accommodation there.

Culture and History

The hamlet of Prats-Balaguer is home to the Romanesque church “L’église de la Trinité et Sainte Marie”, built in the 11th century at an altitude of 1,300 m. It houses a rare, listed collection of canvases that forms the decoration of Holy Week, known in Catalan as “Monument”. On summer weekends and during Heritage Days, the church should be open to the public.

El Castell guarded the passage to the Núria hermitage via the Coll de les Nou Fonts. The original tower of El Castell was part of the chain of signal towers in Roussillon and Cerdagne.
