Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via: Hotels and Accommodation

The Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 ski area stretches from an altitude of 1,712 to 2,213 m and covers 46 km with 41 pistes. The area has 24 lifts, including a gondola that provides access to the start of the pistes in the Airelles sector.

Winter sports

Two beginner areas with five pistes are available for those just starting out. The facilities are complemented by two toboggan runs and a snow tubing area. The Nordic area of Font-Romeu has 111 km of groomed and marked cross-country ski trails and paths. The Domaine nordique de Font-Romeu is divided into 22 loops: seven green, ten blue and five red.

The Stade de biathlon de Font-Romeu has a 2.2 km roller-ski track with four loops. The biathlon facilities in Font-Romeu combine cross-country skiing with rifle shooting and are suitable from the age of eight.

Culture

The Église Saint-Martin d’Odeillo preserves a carved Romanesque portal and an altarpiece depicting the life of Saint Martin. It was probably built in the Romanesque style in the 9th century. The Four Solaire d’Odeillo is one of six buildings in Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via classified or registered as historic monuments.

The Chapelle de l’Ermitage de Font-Romeu is listed in the inventory of historic monuments and houses classified furnishings from the 18th century in the Catalan Baroque style. The Ermitage de Font-Romeu is a pilgrimage site associated with the veneration of Notre-Dame de Font-Romeu; the statue is attributed to the 13th century.

Paths

The Musée sans Murs is free of charge and open all year round. It now comprises a 1.2 km-long route with more than 40 consecutive stops and follows an easy-to-walk path with a gentle incline from the centre of Font-Romeu to the Ermitage. From Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via railway station, the church can be reached on foot in less than 20 minutes; the approximate route is 16 minutes or 1,355 m.
