The Camurac mountain station has a beginners’ area with a rope tow, as well as a ski and snowboard school with a snow kindergarten.

Landscape

The long Les Crêtes de Camurac route begins in the village of Camurac and initially passes through woodland, then through blueberry stands and high-altitude meadows to the ridges.

From the Les Crêtes de Camurac route, the Roc de Quercourt at an altitude of 1,820 m offers 360-degree views across the Plateau de Sault and the Pyrenean peaks.

Every year in early spring, the roads around Lac de Camurac are crossed by migrating amphibians, including frogs, toads and newts, on their way to their breeding grounds.

Corde Game is an outdoor activity featuring games, balance challenges, crossings and cooperative elements; it is open to participants aged 6 and over.

Montée Simon CARR is a cycling climb on the Col du Teil, measuring 5.150 km in length with an average gradient of 7.7%.

Culture

The processional banner of Saints Just et Pasteur dates from the 19th century, is protected as a movable cultural heritage object and is associated with the church of Camurac.

The Moulin du Pas below also had a sawmill.

Practical Information

Camurac is one of the municipalities where winter equipment for vehicles is mandatory from 1 November to 31 March; this requires winter tyres or snow chains to be carried in the vehicle.
