Velká Štáhle lies on both banks of the Moravice, immediately beyond the confluence of the Moravice and the Podolský stream. The Rýmařov–Valšov railway line runs through the village. The municipal tourist accommodation U školky is located 100 meters from the railway stop on this line and 400 meters from a bus stop.
Culture
The Church of the Most Holy Trinity was built in the late Gothic style between 1576 and 1606 by Jan Kobylka z Kobylí. Its tower offers wide-ranging views of the surrounding area. The local path to a cross and a bell tower passes by the church building along a field path; at a junction, turn right.
History and Remembrance
The Božího těla Chapel dates from 1927. It contains the original Baroque sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. Two black marble plaques at the chapel name 32 victims of the war from 1914 to 1918.
Industrial Heritage
The historic DDP 22 threshing machine was manufactured by ED. LÖHNERT & SOHN in Velká Štáhle between 1929 and 1939. It is displayed in the center of Velká Štáhle on the grounds of the kindergarten next to a bicycle rest area with seating.
Trails and Landscape
Route 6142 can be extended via Břidličná toward the Slezská Harta reservoir. From Velká Štáhle, cyclists can reach Malá Štáhle via a field path along the right bank of the Moravice. The educational trail near Malá Štáhle leads through the remains of mining activity, with ponds, quarries, and ravines, and includes a shared inline skating, cycling, and walking path.
The Moravice Valley is designated as a European Natura 2000 site of community importance.
