History and culture

Světlá Hora was first mentioned in writing in 1267. The Church of Saint Barbara and Saint Catherine was built in 1798. In Světlá Hora, it is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and a single-nave, late Baroque masonry building with a semicircular apse and an attached sacristy.

The mining history is also present in Suchá Rudná: gold panning and mining took place there as early as around the transition from the 1220s to the 1230s of the 13th century. Surface and underground remains of medieval gold mining have been preserved.
