Stará Ves: Hotels and accommodations

Below Anenská Huť, there is a downhill ski slope that can be used for alpine skiing. For cross-country skiing, the municipality of Stará Ves is involved in expanding and maintaining cross-country ski trails, including new routes and facilities with bridges and culverts; a snow groomer keeps the trails in good condition.

Geographical location

Stará Ves is located on the Šumperk–Ostrava bus route. Stará Ves is also a possible starting point for the ascent to Jelení studánka.

Nature

The entire cadastral area of Stará Ves lies within the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area. More than 80% of the area of Stará Ves is covered by forests.

The mountains of Soukenná, Pec, Břidličná hora, and Jelení hŕbet are located in the vicinity of Stará Ves. In summer, Stará Ves and its surroundings are suitable for hiking.

Culture

On Potočná Street in Stará Ves stands a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from the late 18th century, which has been extensively restored. The Žďárský Potok village heritage zone in Stará Ves preserves the built-up character of a Jeseníky village from the 17th century and includes surviving log buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

In the wider regional surroundings of Stará Ves are Hrad Brníčko, a castle, and Nový Hrad, a castle ruin.
