Culture and Urban History

The historic town center includes Rýmařov Town Hall, which was declared a cultural monument in 1966, and the Rýmařov parish house. It is also a cultural monument and is one of the oldest and most valuable buildings in the historic town center.

Kaple V Lipkách is considered a jewel of North Moravian Baroque. From 2013 onward, it was opened not only to parishioners and pilgrims but also to tourists and visitors to the town. In St. Michael's Church in Rýmařov, a simple Baroque rosary chapel was built in 1688 on the left side of the church nave. The chapel, the altar, and the gallery are among its most original elements. The altarpiece oil painting depicting the Virgin Mary, Saint Dominic, and Saint Catherine of Siena was created around 1725 by the prominent Jan Kryštof Handke, who came from Janovice.

Museum and Archaeological Heritage

The “History of Rýmařov” exhibition presents finds dating from the town's foundation in the 1270s through the 15th century. Hrádek – Burgstadel is a protected archaeological site and serves as the outdoor section of the geological exhibition of the Rýmařov Town Museum. Hrádek features a reconstruction of the foundations of a residential building of the town castle with an attached heating installation, illustrating the situation at the end of the 13th century.

The external exhibition of the Rýmařov Town Museum is located in the building of the HEDVA ČESKÝ BROKÁT textile factory. The Marie Kodovská Gallery is housed in the artist's former residence on Mlýnská Street and displays her works of art as well as objects she used.
