Landscape

The Ptačí hora area is located in the cadastral territory of Nové Heřminovy and covers 76.2730 ha. The core of the Ptačí hora area is the Ptačí hora National Nature Monument, which protects natural submontane beech and beech-fir forests containing a proportion of original Jeseník larches (Larix decidua).

Culture

A stone cross dating from 1733 stands directly beside the Chapel of the Holy Trinity.

Routes

Cycle route No. 6161 runs from Lesní mlýn via Václavov u Bruntálu, Valšov, Mezina, Dlouhá Stráň, Milotice nad Opavou, Nové Heřminovy and on to Čaková; it is 43.2 km long. Route 6162 is 26.3 km long.

The “Naučná stezka Nové Heřminovy” educational trail consists of two routes. The local route is 1.5 km long and includes seven stops covering the history and unique architecture of the municipality, including the former spa facilities. The second route, which leads through the surroundings of the municipality, is 6 km long and includes five stops covering local natural attractions. The “Vyhlídka u Žanety” viewpoint in Nové Heřmínovy offers views of Praděd and seating.
