Příkrý is situated on a steep northwestern slope that descends into the valley of the Vošmenda. The Vošmenda is a tributary of the Jizera.
Landscape
From Na Vrších hill near Škodějov, there are views of the ridges of the Krkonoše Mountains, Ještěd and Kozákov. The mountains of Strážník, Pustina, Tábor and Černá Studnice are located in the vicinity of Příkrý.
History and Vernacular Architecture
Škodějov was the birthplace of Karel Farský, one of the co-founders of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. The upper wooden bell tower in Příkrý houses an original bell from the first half of the 18th century. Cottage No. 64 at Kozí roh, which is protected as a cultural monument, dates from 1869 and is a well-preserved example of the timbered folk architecture of the Podkrkonoší region.
The bell tower in Škodějov forms a picturesque rural ensemble with the neighboring timbered farmhouse on the municipal road to Háje nad Jizerou. The Škodějov water castle site has a partially preserved outer rampart in the western part of the village, northwest of House No. 4. It is a square earthwork with sides measuring 18 meters and a former moat 6 to 12 meters wide.
Other Cultural Sites
Valdštejn Church, the Spalona Strażnica ruins and Lázně Church are located in the wider regional surroundings of Příkrý. The Dr. Karel Farský nature area above the municipality includes a forest chapel and an educational trail.
