Culture and History

The Sejkorská Chapel in Bozkov became a pilgrimage site. When arriving from Semily, it is the first Bozkov landmark you come across.

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Bozkov was built in 1693; its foundation stone was laid and consecrated on 23 September 1690. Its tower is 49 metres high and open to the public.

A memorial plaque on house number 100 in Bozkov commemorates the birthplace of the priest, writer and Czech National Revivalist Josef Alois Kouble.

The U Matičky Chapel was built in 1900 at a site where a spring had flowed since time immemorial and was believed to have healing powers. A statue of the Virgin Mary was moved there from the disused cemetery chapel. Dřevěnka was added to the list of cultural monuments in 2011.

Landscape and Nature

The valley of the Vošmenda stream combines natural beauty with examples of folk architecture. These include a former mill and houses that have preserved their original character.

Masarykova vyhlídka offers views of Kozákov, Bozkov and part of the Giant Mountains.

The Bozkov Dolomite Caves were declared a national natural monument in 1999. Jezerní dóm is home to the largest underground lake in the Czech Republic.

The Bozkov Dolomite Caves are open to the public as part of guided tours.

Hiking and Cycling

The Palackého Trail is 20.5 kilometres long and runs from Tanvald to Podspálov.

From the Palackého Trail, you can follow a blue-marked branch to the Bozkov Dolomite Caves, then continue to Bozkov and return to the trail via a green-marked route.

Marked hiking trails lead from Bozkov to Semily, Vysoké nad Jizerou, Bohuňovsko and Jesenný.

Cycle route 1074 from Semily to Vysoké nad Jizerou passes through Bozkov.
