Routes
Cycle route 4174 passes through Bystrá nad Jizerou and connects the Bohemian Paradise with the Krkonoše Mountains. A green-marked hiking trail from Semily via Jilemnice to Vrchlabí also passes through the village.
Village Character and History
Numerous typical 19th-century foothill cottages have been preserved in Bystrá nad Jizerou. Some of the traditional cottages serve as holiday homes. The voluntary fire brigade is also part of local life: it was founded in 1893, remains active to this day, and participates in local cultural life.
A distinctive structure is the wooden Bysterský Bridge. It was built in 1922 and connects the main road with the village centre, which is approximately 1.5 kilometres away. The bridge continues to serve its original purpose.
