Culture and History

Seeberg Castle in Poustka dates back to the end of the 12th century. Its architectural complex combines a Romanesque and Gothic palas with a Renaissance wing and an arcaded gallery. Visitors can see extensive exhibitions on the history of the castle, the Black Kitchen, and the theme “The Life of a Porcelain Cup.”

In the surroundings of Seeberg Castle in Ostroh, a district of Poustka, there is a chapel at a spring dating from 1712. A Hussar cross from the time of the Seven Years’ War also stands there. The Church of St. Wolfgang on Seeberg was built between 1470 and 1478 in the Late Gothic style and remodeled in the Baroque style in 1721. It is a single-nave building without a tower, with a polygonal-ended presbytery. A restored dovecote, built in 1908, also stands on an old, partially maintained farm in Poustka.
