History and Architecture
Čermná was established in the 13th century, before the beginning of German colonisation. The first written record dates from 1362; at that time, the first known owner of the municipality, Tyček of Ivanovice, was engaged in farming here.
The original Church of St Wenceslas was built in 1384. The present Church of St Wenceslas was completed in 1915, after the previous church was demolished in 1913. A Gothic Madonna and Child from the late 14th or early 15th century, discovered by chance, comes from the local church.
Numerous traditional log houses have been preserved in Čermná. Two groups of these log houses south of the stream are considered particularly noteworthy.
Events
Local events held at the church include an Advent concert and other events. Local traditions in Čermná also include the “Memoriál Františka Štočka” fire brigade competition.
The annual Čermská pouť, with an all-day programme for children and adults, was scheduled to take place in Čermná on 9 July 2022.
