The Root Museum is located in the Haus beim Brunnen, a 17th-century Lucerne Tätschhaus. The collection includes contemporary witness interviews on DVD, which can be viewed on site. From Gisikon-Root railway station, the museum can be reached in a ten-minute walk; it is also served by bus route 23 at Root Dorf.

Culture
The 1708-consecrated St. Martin's Church is part of the local history. Together with the ossuary, entrance hall and fountain, it forms a unified historic ensemble.
The Root Museum presents the life of Root's last itinerant shoemaker, Josef Stücheli, as well as his largely preserved property. It also houses Langjahr Film's analogue film workshop, with editing tables, cameras and tape recorders on display.
The Root Museum features the photo exhibition “Root Through the Ages” as well as an exhibition on the history of the town's inns. The stories of the houses also include the Schniiderlilonzi House, which was formerly associated with Root's first telephone exchange, a hairdressing salon, a tailoring workshop and a colonial goods store.
On the Rooterberg stands a mountain church on the site of a former missionary cross; it is built of granite and wood.
Nature
The Rontal Ridge Trail offers wide-ranging views over the valley and leads through forests and across scenic hilltops.
The Alpine Panorama Trail includes Michaelskreuz, a viewpoint with an inn and wedding chapel.
The 14-kilometre Rontal Höhenweg runs from Lucerne through Root, Gisikon and other Rontal municipalities to Honau. Along the route are barbecue areas, playgrounds and viewpoints.
