ZorraquÃn in the Ciloria Valley
ZorraquÃn lies in the northern part of the Sierra de la Demanda and is surrounded by a rugged mountain landscape, dominated by the 1,549-metre-high El Hombre mountain. The village lies in the valley of the Ciloria River, a tributary of the Oja.
Nature
In this valley, native oaks, beech trees, hazelnut trees, crab apple trees and scrubland are combined with plantings of poplars and pine trees. The landscape thus brings together different forms of vegetation with a clearly defined mountain profile and a location on the Ciloria River.
The geographical and landscape context remains closely linked to the activities mentioned: ZorraquÃn lies on the Ciloria, while El Hombre marks the named mountain profile. Within this setting, hiking trails and mountain biking routes offer different forms of movement; the Ruta Verde also extends beyond ZorraquÃn and connects the village with Ezcaray and Valgañón.

Culture
The Church of San Esteban in ZorraquÃn is a Romanesque church; its apse was later replaced with a Gothic one in the 16th century. Above the main altar, the church preserves a 10th-century Mozarabic stone tracery panel.
The entrance door of San Esteban features original 13th-century Romanesque iron fittings. The church thus combines a Romanesque basic form, a later Gothic alteration to the apse, and individual preserved furnishings from different centuries.
For 2026, the local festivals of San Vitores on 26 August and Santa LucÃa on 14 December have been scheduled in ZorraquÃn. The San Vitores celebrations traditionally include the burning of the Ceferino, which announces the conclusion of the festivities.
Activities
The Ruta Verde del Ciloria connects Ezcaray, ZorraquÃn and Valgañón as a linear route with the outward and return journeys along the same path, as well as rest areas with exercise facilities.
ZorraquÃn offers a wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities, including hiking trails. There are also many mountain biking routes in ZorraquÃn for cycling in nature.
When choosing between outdoor activities, you can distinguish them by the means of travel: on foot along hiking trails or by bicycle on mountain biking routes. The Ruta Verde del Ciloria is described separately as a linear connection between several villages with its own route characteristics.
