Trails
Ezcaray has seven marked short-distance hiking trails through the valley. Their routes, distances and difficulty levels differ from one another. In addition to these valley trails, two major routes also pass through the town: the GR-93, known as Sierras Riojanas, and the GR-190, called Altos Valles Ibéricos.
The developed section of the VĂa Verde del Oja runs along the former railway line from Ezcaray to Casalarreina.
The Ruta Verde del Ciloria connects Ezcaray with ZorraquĂn and Valgañón and has rest areas. Another connection is the Camino de la Herradura: it begins in Ezcaray, ends in Posadas and runs through the Oja Valley.
The Camino de la Herradura is considered an easy trail with more than ten kilometres in each direction. The trail options therefore range from short marked valley routes and connections between several towns to a longer route through the Oja Valley.
Culture

The church of Santa MarĂa la Mayor in Ezcaray dates from the 12th to the 14th century and is classified as a historic-artistic monument. The church features an Aragonese Gothic style that is unique in La Rioja.
Ezcaray also preserves a network of old streets with heraldic palaces and manor houses. The town centre retains well-preserved architecture and covered arcades. The townscape therefore encompasses both individual religious buildings and historic streetscapes and representative buildings.
The Real Fábrica de Santa Bárbara was founded in 1752.
Jazz festivals are held in Ezcaray. The Ezcaray municipal tourist information office provides tourist, cultural and gastronomic information about Ezcaray and La Rioja.
When choosing accommodation in Ezcaray, travel dates, room category and cancellation policies can be considered as separate criteria. These practical conditions stand alongside the different trails, landscapes and historic buildings. This makes it possible to structure the planning objectively according to the information that matters in each case, without mixing the topics together.
