Skiing and other sports

La Molina Bike Park comprises eight downhill tracks, a cross-country track and a Wood Park. The Centre d'Esport Adaptat in La Molina offers ski, snowboard and adapted sports courses led by specialised instructors. For planning purposes, the cycling activities, winter sports courses and adapted sports formats can be considered separately: the Bike Park has dedicated tracks, while the courses are led by specialised instructors.

History

La Molina was founded in 1943 and is one of Spain’s oldest ski resorts. The Fontcanaleta ski lift also dates from 1943. It was part of the pioneering history of mechanical ski lifts in La Molina. The founding of the ski resort and the early ski lift therefore date from the same year.

Mountains and trails

The Cadí-Moixeró cable car reaches Tosa d’Alp at an altitude of over 2,500 metres. From there, it offers views of Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and the Cerdanya valley. Guided tours at Tosa d’Alp by cable car include two panoramic routes leading into Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. Meals featuring mountain cuisine are offered at the summit of Tosa d’Alp, which can be reached by cable car. For orientation, the altitude, the views of the natural park and valley, the two guided panoramic routes and the dining options can each be compared separately here.

Geographical setting

Montaña de Alp, a mountain, is located in the immediate vicinity of La Molina. Cap del Serrat Gran and Cim de Coma Morera, both summits, as well as la Tosa, a mountain, are located in the surrounding area. The destinations can therefore be distinguished by their geographical relationship to La Molina and by whether they are designated as a mountain or summit.

Culture and regional destinations

The wider regional area around La Molina includes the Museu Municipal De Llívia, a museum, and Pedra Dreta, an ancient site. The Mirador De La Figuerassa, a viewpoint, and the Parroquia Santa Eulalia, a church, are also located in the wider regional area. This provides four different types of destinations for regional comparison: museum, ancient site, viewpoint and church.

Other destinations: Masella.

Getting there

The R3 Rodalies line also serves the La Molina ski resort as part of its connections. The rail connection thus supplements the information about ski runs, sports courses and mountain destinations with a dedicated way of getting there.

When choosing a hotel in La Molina, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be considered as separate details. These three points concern the choice of accommodation; ski runs, cable car, panoramic routes and regional destinations describe the travel destination’s subject areas.
