Culture

The “Four Brave Men Monument” is located in the village. A small park surrounds the monument. It was erected in 1978 to mark the 200th anniversary of the first ascent of Triglav.

The Church of St John the Baptist stands on a hill beside Lake Bohinj. It was built before 1300 and is a protected cultural and historical monument.

Water

The bathing-water area of Lake Bohinj extends from the Church of St John the Baptist to the eastern end of the lake, at the Fužinski zaliv bathing area.

The two electric boats, Zlatorog and Triglavska roža, operate on Lake Bohinj in both directions between Ribčev Laz and Ukanc. The boarding point for the panoramic boat in Ribčev Laz is near the bridge and the Church of St John the Baptist. The one-way trip by panoramic boat between Ribčev Laz and Ukanc takes 30 minutes.

Trails

The Juliana Trail follows the eastern shore of Lake Bohinj to Ribčev Laz and reaches the village via well-marked paths, forest roads and mountain trails. Near Ribčev Laz, the trail passes beneath the foothills of the Bohinj–Tolmin Mountains.

The Bohinj Cycling Route is also well signposted. Information centres in Bohinj offer tips on excursions and activities, maps, and information for safe hiking.
