Nature

Veľká Stožka on the Stožky educational trail is a 260-hectare national nature reserve. Its landscape features rock towers, overhangs, caves and gorges; there are also paleontological sites.

Malá Stožka on the Stožky educational trail is also designated as a national nature reserve. It is home to calcicolous rock communities on dolomitic limestone, as well as rare plant and animal species.

Culture

The Late Baroque Church of St. John of Nepomuk in Závadka nad Hronom is a cultural monument dating from 1784 and was renovated in 1932. Its main altar contains a painting by Andrej Zallinger created in 1786. An alpine garden with a pond, as well as rare plants and shrubs, also adorns the grounds on the access slope of the church.

The municipal museum building and its garden are designated as a national cultural monument. The museum presents local domestic culture in Závadka nad Hronom from the period before the Second World War, around the 1930s. It is housed in a traditional wooden house dating from 1921.

Recreation

Závadka nad Hronom offers the public a heated indoor swimming pool measuring 6 × 25 m with three swimming lanes. The indoor pool complex also includes a dry sauna for 15 to 20 people.
