Trails and Landscape

Poronin is considered a scenic village in the Tatra Mountains and is located where the Porońca and Zakopianka streams meet.

In the vicinity of Poronin are Tatry - Siklawica, Gubałówka, Mały Kopieniec and Wielki Kopieniec, with the elevation designation “1328 m a.s.l. Tatry”.

A red, 9.5-kilometre-long trail leads from Gubałówka via Ząb and Suche to Galicowa Grapa. A blue, 7.5-kilometre-long trail runs through Poronin and has stops at the pilgrimage site “Sanctuary of Our Lady Queen of the Tatras” and at a forester’s lodge dating from 1892.

Culture

The building at Piłsudskiego 2, listed as a historic inn, later served as the Lenin Museum and is now a cultural centre.
