Castle, architecture and collections
It is not possible to visit Vaduz Castle. However, the official visitor offerings include a 3D exploration and an augmented-reality exploration.
The collection of Adulf Peter Goop in the Liechtenstein Treasure Chamber includes numerous works by Fabergé.
The architectural highlights include St. Florin’s Parish Church and the Red House. The foundation stone of St. Florin’s Parish Church was laid on 17 August 1869. The church with its front tower was built in the Neo-Gothic style according to plans by Viennese cathedral architect Friedrich von Schmidt.
The Red House is a four-storey residential tower with an almost square floor plan. The ground floor as well as the first and second upper floors consist of exposed natural-stone masonry.
Hintergass Farmstead was originally built in 1494 as a vintner’s house with a wine cellar and is now considered one of the oldest surviving rural buildings in Liechtenstein.
Wine trail and Princely Winery
The Princely Winery of Liechtenstein can be experienced in more ways than just via the wine trail. A tasting at the winery provides a detailed insight into the world and history of the Princely wine.
The wine trail passes Blauburgunder vines and ends in a varietal garden at the Princely Winery of Liechtenstein.
Hintergass Farmstead also has a direct connection to wine. Its premises are available to the Vaduz vintners’ cooperative for tastings, courses and social events.
Walks, cycle paths and landscape
The sculpture BlĂĽhende Sprache by Peter Hemmi stands in the pond of the nature park on Gerberweg, near the Liechtenstein National Library.
Vaduz has numerous cycle paths through woodland landscapes, along small rivers and past other natural attractions. One longer route is 6.4 kilometres long and offers a viewing platform in the Letzi area with views of the valley.
