Nevegal between the plateau and Val Belluna
The Alpe del Nevegal is a plateau on the northern slope of the Col Visentin group. This ridge separates the Po-Venetian Plain from Val Belluna. A plateau is a higher-elevation, comparatively level landscape form.
In the Nevegal ski area, the Coca Bassa slope enables night skiing. Night skiing involves using a downhill run outside daylight hours. The Infopoint Nevegal provides maps for trekking and cycling routes and sells winter ski passes. When planning a stay, you can therefore find both maps for trails and winter ski passes there.

Karst landscape and alpine animal species
The Monte Faverghera nature reserve features karst formations such as sinkholes, caves, shafts and karren fields. Sinkholes are funnel- or basin-shaped depressions in karst; karren fields form through the visible dissolution of rock surfaces. Alpine animal species found in the Monte Faverghera nature reserve include capercaillie, hazel grouse, rock ptarmigan and black woodpecker. For nature observation, geological formations and alpine bird species come together at Monte Faverghera.
The Monte Faverghera nature reserve can be reached on foot via trails from Piazzale del Nevegal.
Botanical trail in the Giardino delle Alpi Orientali
The Giardino Botanico delle Alpi Orientali is a state nature reserve managed by the Reparto Carabinieri Biodiversità di Belluno. The botanical trail in the Giardino Botanico delle Alpi Orientali is easy, approximately 2,000 metres long and takes about two hours. Guided tours of the Giardino Botanico delle Alpi Orientali are available by prior reservation. At approximately 2,000 metres in length and taking about two hours, the botanical trail can be planned as a separate section of a day’s itinerary.
Trekking and cycling trails
The Alpe del Nevegal has almost 100 kilometres of trekking and mountain biking trails leading up to the surrounding peaks. Trekking refers to longer hikes, while mountain bike routes are ridden on bicycles suitable for off-road terrain. The Belluno–Nevegal cycling route covers 12.7 kilometres from Piazza dei Martiri in Belluno to Nevegal. The Monte Faverghera–Col Visentin mountain bike route starts at Piazzale del Nevegal and covers 14 kilometres to Col Visentin. At 12.7 kilometres, the Belluno–Nevegal cycling route is shorter than the 14-kilometre Monte Faverghera–Col Visentin mountain bike route. The routes start at different locations: the cycling route starts at Piazza dei Martiri in Belluno, while the mountain bike route starts at Piazzale del Nevegal.
Pilgrimage sanctuary on NevegĂ l Hill
The Santuario Maria Immacolata “Nostra Signora di Lourdes” is a pilgrimage sanctuary on Nevegà l Hill at an altitude of 1,000 metres. A pilgrimage sanctuary is a religious site associated with a pilgrimage tradition.
