Passo Del Tonale: Skiing, Children's Trail and Alpine Paths

Skiing and snowkiting

The Pontedilegno-Tonale ski area has 100 kilometres of pistes. Piste kilometres refer to the length of designated downhill runs; the figure describes the extent of the range of pistes within this ski area. Snowkiting is also possible in the Pontedilegno-Tonale ski area. In snowkiting, a kite, meaning a large steerable canopy, pulls the participant across the snow. Parco delle Marmotte at Passo Tonale

Parco delle Marmotte at Passo Tonale is an activity trail for children with seven stations. An activity trail combines a walk with several designated points that are reached one after another. From Passo Tonale, Parco delle Marmotte can be reached on foot via a walk of approximately one and a half hours along a gravel road. A gravel road is an unpaved path with loose rock as its surface. The children's trail is therefore defined both by its seven stations and by the approximately one-and-a-half-hour walk from Passo Tonale to the trail.

Sacrario, Galleria Paradiso and Forte Zaccarana

The Sacrario della Prima Guerra Mondiale stands at Tonale. The Sacrario della Prima Guerra Mondiale was built in 1936 by the architect Pietro Del Fabbro. Galleria Paradiso can be reached from Passo Tonale by the Paradiso gondola lift. A gondola lift transports visitors in enclosed cabins and therefore differs from a chairlift. At Forte Zaccarana, the interior is partially accessible and only as part of guided tours. The accessible interior of Forte Zaccarana is therefore limited to guided tours; the type of visit cannot explicitly be chosen freely.
