Fiera di Primiero between waterways and mountain views
Fiera di Primiero lies at the confluence of the Canali and Cismon streams. Via Rivetta Koch, you can get from Fiera di Primiero to the Pieve district in just a few minutes. From Fiera di Primiero, the Pale di San Martino can be seen from a particularly distinctive perspective.
Churches and historic architecture
One of the important architectural landmarks of Fiera di Primiero is the Chiesa della Madonna dell’Aiuto. Fiera di Primiero was founded in the 15th century as a place for markets and trade. Along the Contrada stand colourful row houses displaying architectural features typical of Tyrolean Alpine villages. The Chiesa arcipretale di Santa Maria Assunta was built in the Gothic style and was largely constructed by workers from the local mines. It was completed in 1493. A single building thus reveals both the Gothic language of form and the connection to the local mining history.
The Chiesetta di San Martino a Pieve dates back to the Ottonian period, is around ten centuries old and therefore features a Romanesque style. The church preserves fragments of valuable frescoes. Until mid-September, the Chiesetta di San Martino a Pieve is open for visits from Tuesday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 15:30 to 18:30.
Mining history at the Palazzo delle Miniere
The Palazzo delle Miniere was built in the second half of the 15th century. The building is an important example of late Gothic architecture, probably influenced by Brixen. The historic nature trail “Sui passi dei Canopi” begins at the Palazzo delle Miniere and leads to the entrance of the “Friole” gallery.
P-QUÌ is an interactive museum in the Palazzo delle Miniere and a timeline of Primiero’s history; it opened in July 2020. P-QUÌ combines permanent collections, historic tools and historical narratives. For visitors who would like to explore the development of Primiero and the working lives of the past in greater depth, the museum therefore offers several thematic levels at its core.
Hiking trails with different points of focus
The first stage of the Primiero Slow Tour begins in Fiera di Primiero and covers 10.7 km in approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes, ending at Passo Cereda. The Monte Bedolè hiking trail leads uphill from Fiera di Primiero along the entire eastern slope of Cima Bedolé. The Monte Bedolè hiking trail offers particularly impressive views of the Pale di San Martino and the Cimonega Group.
Connection from Fiera di Primiero
From 27 June to 6 September 2026, a connection operates from the Fiera di Primiero bus station; the return journey starts in Paneveggio.
