Churches and Castle in Algund
The old parish church of St Hippolytus and Erhard in Algund reflects three periods of construction: Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque. The early Gothic Church of St Mary and Maria Steinach Monastery were founded in 1241 by Countess Adelheid of Tyrol. Forst Castle was built in the 13th century and first mentioned in writing in 1302. This means that Algund offers sacred buildings and a castle associated with different historical periods.

Hiking, Forests and Open Trails
The Waalweg di Lagundo is freely accessible. The hike from Aschbach to the Naturnser Alm is a circular hike through the Naturnser Alm area. A circular hike returns to the starting point of the hike. The Aschbach Forest Adventure Trail is an approximately 3.6-kilometre panoramic route that is accessible with a pushchair and introduces children and adults to different habitats of the local forest wildlife and plant life. Menhirs of Algund
The Menhirs of Algund are monumental stone figures believed to have been created more than 5,000 years ago. At the Menhirs of Algund, visitors can listen to an approximately 15-minute story about the statues in three languages via a QR code or borrowed headphones. The approximate time indication is retained; several options are also available for listening to the story. The three languages allow visitors to choose the audio version on site.
Kneipp Stations and the Südtirol GuestPass Algund
Around 50 free Kneipp stations are spread throughout the municipality of Algund, inviting visitors to refresh body and mind. Events and Sightseeing
In Algund, villagers light blazing Sacred Heart symbols on the mountains every year on the second Sunday after Corpus Christi, visible from far away. Event highlights in Algund include selected markets on the church square and a Christmas market. The Maria Steinach monastery complex and the monastery church can currently only be viewed from the outside.
