Culture
The inner-city educational trail connects several historic landmarks: the Rösselturm, which is integrated into the remains of the old town wall; the restored historic waterwheel; the Hospital Church of St. George with historic funerary monuments; and St. John’s Church with one of the oldest bronze carillons in Germany.
The Schnitzheim showcases the Erzgebirge woodcarving tradition. It is home to a woodcarving and mining association founded in 1879, which is known for its artistically designed Christmas mountains. The town also has a permanent exhibition on local and Christmas mountains.
