The Lohrgrund section of the trail is flat, while the Brückberg section features a steady climb and offers views over the Neuhütten Valley. Culture and history
Neuhütten’s origins are linked to a glassmakers’ settlement; the town was first mentioned in documents in 1477. Attractions for visitors include the Catholic Church of St. Joseph. The former barite mine is a testament to Neuhütten’s industrial history. The “From Hut to Hut” cultural trail also presents the area’s former glass production.
Getting there
By car, the route leads via the Weibersbrunn exit on the A3, then along the B26 toward Lohr and, after Bischborner Hof, via the MSP 21. By train, Neuhütten can be reached via Heigenbrücken or Wiesthal on the Frankfurt–Würzburg line.
