The Chapelle du Mont Thabor, also known as the Chapelle Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs, is located at an altitude of 3,164 m, around 100 m from the 3,178 m-high summit of Mont Thabor. It is a place of pilgrimage where several pilgrimages are organized every summer.
In summer, the association for the preservation and promotion of Valmeinier's heritage works with the tourism office on bread-baking workshops and tastings of Côques as part of the “Montagnards” activities.
La Ferme du Mont Thabor offers free tours during which visitors can watch the goats being milked. At La Ferme du Mont Thabor, visitors can also taste goat's cheese and take goat's cheese home with them.
The La Gwape microbrewery operates a bar open to the public in Valmeinier. Its beers are based on spring water from Valmeinier and are available in four recipes: blonde (Mountain Pale Ale), blanche (American wheat beer), ambrée (Amber Atale), and India Pale Ale (bitter beer).

The Valmeinier resort extends across two altitudes: Valmeinier Villages lies at an altitude of 1,500 m and has an authentic character; Valmeinier 1800 represents the mountain experience.
Getting There
From the north, Valmeinier can be reached via the A43 motorway to exit 29 at Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, followed by 12 km on a departmental road.
