The Nordic ski area of Val-des-Prés/Les Alberts offers 25 kilometres of cross-country ski trails and also has 13 kilometres of Nordic routes. Val-des-Prés is located at the entrance to the Clarée Valley.

Geographical location

Val-des-Prés consists of five hamlets: La Vachette, Le Rosier, the main village, as well as Le Serre, Pra Premier and La Draye.

Culture

The Église Saint-Claude in Le Serre, Val-des-Prés, was classified as a historic monument by decree of 13 November 1989. The Église de l'Annonciation was listed as a historic monument by decree of 29 August 1989.

Émilie Carles was born in Val-des-Prés on 29 May 1900 and wrote the autobiographical book “Une soupe aux herbes sauvages”. Along the Clarée, there are around twenty sundials between La Vachette and Ville-Haute. Between La Vachette and Val-des-Prés, there are numerous sundials considered part of the high-Alpine cultural heritage.

The Mini musée du four à pain du Serre presents the traditions and use of the local bread ovens; it is open daily all year round. The “Les Arcades” building can also still be admired today.
