Winter and trails

Réallon is partly located in the Écrins National Park and overlooks Lac de Serre-Ponçon. The upper part of the Réallon Valley beyond the hamlet of Les Gourniers lies in the heart of the Écrins National Park.

In the upper Réallon Valley, observing chamois is relatively easy, particularly in autumn during the rutting season and in winter. Réallon has numerous hiking trails and short discovery walks.

Les Oucanes is a limestone pavement within the Aiguilles de Chabrières and features more than 20 straight fissures, some of which are up to 25 metres deep. The path to Fort de Réallon leads to a plateau with meadows; from there, the panorama extends from the summit of Barle to Lac de Serre-Ponçon.

Activities

The Réallon bike park includes a discovery area for children, eight downhill trails and four enduro routes. The Prince and the Shepherd Discovery Trail is a gentle circular route with barely 100 metres of ascent and a walking time of 1.5 to 2 hours, including play breaks.

Réallon Adventure is a treetop adventure park in a larch forest at an altitude of 1,560 metres. After hiking or mountain biking, the Base de loisirs de l’Iscle in Les Gourniers provides an opportunity to swim in Laccas lake. The Base de loisirs de l’Iscle houses the visitor centre of the Écrins National Park.

Culture

The Église Saint Pelade, dating from the 16th century, is located in Réallon’s Chef-Lieu. Réallon’s Chef-Lieu is home to a 12th-century fort, one of its cultural heritage features. Fort de Réallon has a square keep built in the 12th century, as well as a curtain wall 77 metres long and 35 metres wide.
