Err lies at the foot of Puigmal. The long-distance hiking trail Tour de Cerdagne GR®P passes through the village. Numerous signposted walking and hiking trails start from the village of Err and the Puigmal area.

Mountain trails

The former Err-Puigmal ski resort offers opportunities for walks in winter and summer. The Les Crêtes du Puigmal route leads to Puigmal d’Err and includes Puigmal de Llo and petit Puigmal de Sègre. The Puigmal trail routes lead to villages, the Cerdanya plateau, through forests and high-altitude landscapes, as well as to summits and the border ridge.

Cycling and Nordic walking

The Puigmal Pyrénées-Cerdagne cycling destination has eight signposted mountain-biking routes with difficulty levels ranging from green to black. The Puigmal Pyrénées-Cerdagne Nordic-walking destination offers five routes for all ability levels, including an introductory route with technical exercises.

A connection Saillagouse–Err from the Ecobike bicycle-rental service connects cyclists with the other mountain-biking routes in Puigmal.

Culture and history

The Chapelle Notre-Dame houses the statue of the seated Virgin and Child, known as Notre-Dame d’Err. It dates from the first quarter of the 13th century. Every year on 2 July, the statue is carried in a procession.

The ancient site of Pedra Dreta is located in the surroundings of Err. The Santuari de Núria shrine is also located nearby.

The Museu Municipal De Llívia, a museum, is located in the immediate surroundings of Err. The peaks Roc de Carbanet, Puig d’Estaques, Pic de Segalera and l’Hippopotame are also located in the immediate surroundings of Err.
