The Sentier Émile Hertzog is accessible to everyone. From the village in the north, it leads to the first foothills of the Petit Ballon; from the lower village, it runs via Obersolberg and Erschlitt to Buchwald at the foot of the Petit Ballon.

Village Character and History
At 36 rue Principale stands a farm dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. Its residential building consists of rendered granite rubble stone; the window surrounds on the ground floor are made of pink sandstone, while the windows on the upper floor and in the attic have oak frames.
A former washhouse from the 19th century stands opposite the mairie and has an elegant bell tower. It served as a communal place in the village where women boiled, beat, scrubbed, and washed laundry and chatted.
The mairie-école of Eschbach-au-Val was built in 1862 and is listed in the inventory. The campanile of the mairie-école was destroyed by bombardment in 1915 and was restored.
In the centre of Eschbach-au-Val there are traditional houses dating from the 18th century.
Village Life
The Dorfhüss (village house – function hall) offers an unobstructed view of the mountain ridges of the petite Vallée de Munster.
Eschbach-au-Val has a traditional Saint John's bonfire. In addition, an Advent sales exhibition presents “100% local crafts”.
