At the Grotte de Lalaye, mountainous landscapes stretch across the back of the valley.
Culture and history
For safety reasons, the Lalaye mines are not open to visitors and therefore cannot be visited. The shaft of the Haus Österreich mine is listed as a historic monument. The present-day Sainte-Aurélie Church in Lalaye was built in 1777.
At the Notre-Dame de Lalaye site, a white-painted sandstone statue of the Virgin Mary, erected in 1865, stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Lalaye-Charbes valley.
