Breitenbach: Hotels and accommodation

Breitenbach combines a clearly described hike with winter activities: the Chaume des Veaux hike is 4.6 km long, involves 247 metres of ascent and takes about two hours. It leads into the heights of the Val de Villé and offers the Pelage viewpoint; the route can be completed on foot or with snowshoes.

Nature and trails

The La forêt de Chirgoutte hike leads through the Vosges forest. When there is sufficient snow, it can also be completed with snowshoes; it is suitable for families.

The mountains of la Grande Bellevue, Roffling, Buchbuckel and Heidenkopf are located in the vicinity of Breitenbach. Since 2017, Breitenbach and Saint-Martin have participated in the Trame Verte et Bleue project. This project aims to protect natural and wet habitats and connect them through corridors for the benefit of species and biodiversity.

Experiences

Parc Alsace Aventure is located within the municipality of Breitenbach, on the border with the municipality of Le Hohwald. It offers 3,000 metres of zip lines, ten treetop courses, mountain biking, paintball, educational courses and the opportunity to discover regional products.

Since 1998, the Grand Vol paragliding school has offered tandem flights and lessons in Breitenbach, on the slopes of Champ du Feu in the Val de Villé.

The Balade ludique à Breitenbach takes visitors on a discovery tour with puzzles and clues through various corners of the village and encourages observation.

The Saint-Gall Church in Breitenbach was built in 1891–1892 to replace the former place of worship. The choir of the former church in Breitenbach dates from the 14th or 15th century. Outside services, Saint-Gall Church can be seen through the windows in the entrance area.

The Château de la Roche castle, Château Frankenbourg castle, the Château du Bilstein Lorrain ruins and the Château du Frankenbourg ruins are located in the vicinity of Breitenbach.
