Nature and Surroundings
A significant part of the cadastral area of Košťany lies in the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory). Mount Bouřňák is located in the vicinity of Košťany; the surrounding area also includes Mount Stropnik, Mount Vlčí hora and Scharspitze. The preserved torso of the Ludvíkův dub oak tree is worth a visit.
Routes and Leisure
The green trail in Cyklopark Košťany is intended for children, beginners and families. The “Za zatopenými doly a skláři” route starts and ends at Mírové náměstí in Košťany. It is particularly suitable for children aged five and over, but is not suitable for families with pushchairs.
Culture and Attractions
The Lobkowicz family hunting lodge lies 1 km north of Košťany’s square; the access road leads via K zámku Street in Střelná. It is suitable as a destination for shorter walks, but is currently not open to the public.
Osek Monastery is located in the vicinity of Košťany. The ruins of Hrad Kysperk and Sukoslav are also in the surrounding area. The Osterzgebirge Wildlife Park is a zoo in the vicinity of Košťany.
Station 12 of the “Zmizelé Košťany” walk refers to the Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross, which was built in the Pseudo-Romanesque style between 1859 and 1861.
