Lobendava: Hotels and Accommodation
Accommodation in Lobendava
One of Lobendava’s defining buildings is the Baroque Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It was built from 1709 to 1712. After the fire of 1790, the church was restored while retaining its Baroque appearance.

Geographical Setting
Lobendava lies in a picturesque valley of the Šluknovský výběžek on the Lučnà potok stream, near the German border. The village is situated on the historic “Imperial Road”, also known as the “Dresden Road”, which was originally built as an important connection between Vienna and Dresden. A branch of this road led from Lobendava to Dolnà Poustevna and Sebnitz.
Culture and Pilgrimage
On AnenskĂ˝ vrch, there is a Way of the Cross with fourteen stations. Thirteen of them are designed as niche chapels, while the fourteenth is the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. The pilgrimage complex also includes a fenced Garden of Gethsemane with statues embedded in the landscape.
The Chapel of Saint Joachim stands on the summit of the hill of the same name, about 2 kilometres northeast of Lobendava. Stations of a Way of the Cross are located around the chapel; the complex was completely restored in 2017. On Annaberg stands the protected Baroque Chapel of Saint Anne, which was built between 1775 and 1777 for a late Gothic statue of Saint Anne.
The protected buildings in the village also include a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1746. It stands on a two-storey triangular pedestal decorated with reliefs depicting scenes from the saint’s life, including his fall from the bridge, his torture, and the queen’s confession. Lobendava is also home to a protected Baroque rectory with an agricultural section dating from the 18th century.
The protected HilgersdorfskĂ˝ Mill is located in the SevernĂ district; it is a former Neoclassical mill complex from the early 19th century. Every year, a pilgrimage site in Lobendava becomes a destination for pilgrims on the Sunday closest to 26 July.
