Vrbice: Hotels and Accommodation

Marked cycle route No. 1068 Strakonice–Vacov runs through Vrbice; the blue “Klostermannova cesta” hiking trail also passes through the village.

Trails and Landscape

The blue “Klostermannova cesta” hiking trail leads from Volyně via Javorník to Kašperské Hory. The “Krajem pod Javorníkem” excursion route includes Vrbice as a stage and is accessible on foot and to experienced cyclists.

The landscape around Vrbice offers interesting views of the Boubín, Bobík and Javorník elevations. The swimming pool and Rohanov campsite are located in the vicinity of Vrbice.

Culture

The “Panny Marie – Prostřednice všech milostí” chapel was built in 1949. Its picturesque decoration was created by Alois Martan; it was extensively reconstructed in 2012. The chapel’s pilgrimage takes place on 8 May.

Local customs take place in the park surrounding the chapel in Vrbice. These include erecting a maypole, commemorating the burning of Master Jan Hus, and decorating a Christmas tree. At Easter, boys and girls walk through the village of Vrbice with wooden rattles.

A timber-framed house with a wooden gallery is particularly striking on the village square in Vrbice.
