Studené: Hotels and Accommodations

The Studenecké skály form an approximately 500-meter-long group of typical frost cliffs; individual rock outcrops are up to 25 meters high. At Studenecké skály, there are climbing routes secured with pitons and bolts, ranging from difficulty grades 3 to 7+ UIAA.

Nature and Location

The Orlice Nature Park lies west of Studené. The Suchý vrch Nature Park and Buková hora mountain lie east of Studené. Studenecké skály can be reached from Těchonín railway station or by car via the road between Těchonín, Vlčkovice, and Studené.

Culture

The church in Studené was built from 1820 to 1822 and dedicated to Saint Anne. The pilgrimage on Friday of Sorrows is still observed in Studené; services are held, although they are less well attended today.

In Dolní les stands a column chapel dedicated to Saint Anne, whose origins are surrounded by local legends. According to local legend, the image of Saint Anne repeatedly returned from the church construction site to its original tree before being placed in a small chapel. According to tradition, the stream emerging from beneath the Chapel of Saint Anne contained miraculous water. The estate owner, Count Stubenberg, allowed the locals to create a small square in front of the Chapel of Saint Anne, bridge a stream, and install several benches.

The small Chapel of Saint Antoníček stands at house number 7. The Langr couple had it built after lightning struck a nearby ash tree in 1914 without setting their house on fire. At the wayside cross in Horní les, an image of Our Lady of Sorrows was rededicated in 2009.

Cycling, Trails, and Sports

The black “Studenecká” route is a cycling route through Zemská brána and its surroundings, beginning at the “Podskalák” complex in Studené. It is described as moderately difficult; the estimated riding time without breaks is 1 hour and 10 minutes, and trekking or mountain bikes are recommended. Where the black “Studenecká” route shares a path with a hiking trail, pedestrians have priority.

The multipurpose sports field near the “Podskalák” complex, in front of the restaurant, can be used for tennis and nohejbal after reservation. For Saturday, August 29, 2026, the 23rd edition of the mountain bike race “Závod horských kol” has been announced in Studené at the “Kravín.” The “Běh kolem skal” is a traditional mass-start race; much of the route runs along paved forest roads, while in the middle it passes in an exposed section over a rocky ridge.
