Culture and History
The Church of Saint Martin in Javorník is listed as a registered cultural monument and dates from 1707 to 1708. An older church at the same location dates back to 1354 and was a branch church of Rudník. There is also a registered chapel with a Pietà at house number 25. The built-up area of Javorník is designated as an archaeological site dating from the Middle Ages to the modern era.
The Tvrziště of Javorník is a water castle. Its characteristic features are a cone-shaped mound and a wide moat that was fed by a nearby stream. A Gothic cellar and a possible remnant of a residential tower have been preserved in the eastern part.
The artificially constructed Jiřský příkop is located in the cadastral area of Javorník between Rudník and Jánská hora. It crosses the ridge between the Stránský and Žabí streams and is 675 metres long. The old mining structure has side ditches and several small filled-in shafts; in some places, it is more than 30 metres wide and up to 20 metres deep.
Lázně, a church, is located in the vicinity of Javorník. In the wider region are Spalona Strażnica, a ruin; Kreppelhof Castle, a castle; and Pałac Bobrów, a chateau.
Routes
The 8-kilometre Rudník–Javorník–Hertvíkovice route runs through the foothills and offers views of Krkonoše. For cyclists, cycle route 4299 runs from Kunčice to Pilníkov via Dolní Lánov, Fořt, Rudník, Javorník v Krkonoších and Vlčice.
