Příbram District: Hotels and Accommodation

Příbram District leads into the Brdy landscape: Marked hiking trails guide visitors through Brdy on foot or by bicycle. CHKO Brdy has been a protected landscape area since 2016.

Nature

On the trails through Brdy, you should not expect snack stands, souvenir stalls, toilets or rubbish bins. Basic visitor facilities for CHKO Brdy are generally available in the access villages.

Visitor Facilities

Obecnice offers parking for up to 300 cars; from there, access routes lead towards Tok, Jordán, Třemošná and Klobouček. Orlov u Příbrami has visitor parking near CHKO Brdy, with access routes towards Třemošná and into the central part of Brdy. The Fabiánova educational trail connects sights in the Podbrdy area for tourists and cyclists.

Culture and History

The Hornické muzeum Příbram presents historic mining buildings and underground facilities associated with silver, uranium and other ores. The Muzeum zlata Nový Knín covers gold mining, local crafts, industrial history and gold-panning championships.

Březnice Château presents the history of noble families and artistic styles from the Renaissance to the 19th century. The Lokšanská Library in Březnice Château was founded in 1558 and is one of the oldest libraries in Bohemia. Březnice Château also includes a Renaissance garden and an English park.

Svatá Hora is a national cultural monument. The Svatá Hora complex is open for individual visits. The covered staircase connecting the centre of Příbram with Svatá Hora is described as having 365 steps leading to the Coronation Altar.

The open-air museum preserves rural architecture dating from the mid-17th century to the beginning of the 20th century. The Antonín Dvořák Memorial is located in a Neo-Renaissance château with an English park.

Water

A route to the Pilská Reservoir leads to a viewpoint with seating above the water and to a deer enclosure. Boating, rowing, pedal boating, surfing and other water activities are possible at the Orlík Reservoir. Boat traffic on the Orlík Reservoir includes excursion boats to Zvíkov Castle and Orlík Château.
