Trails lead through the region from the town centre; the Fountain Trail and Museum Trail each offer something different. The moderately difficult circular hike to Sintersbach Waterfall is estimated to take about four hours.
Plan cross-country skiing and tours
From the centre of Jochberg, well-maintained cross-country ski trails lead directly through the region. Availability and trail grooming can vary with the season. If cross-country skiing is a key part of your travel plans, check current conditions before making arrangements.
The moderately difficult mountain hike to Sintersbach Waterfall is a 9.3 km loop and takes about four hours to walk. The distance, estimated time and difficulty rating provide practical guidance for planning your day. Check current trail conditions before setting out.
The Jochberg Fountain Trail passes seven historic fountains. The Jochberg Museum Trail gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about local culture and traditions at Jochberg’s museums. The trails therefore have different focuses: one follows a route past historic fountains, while the other explores the culture and traditions presented in the museums.
Culture and mining
According to the Tyrolean monument inventory as of 23 June 2026, the Catholic Parish Church of St Wolfgang and its cemetery in Jochberg are protected monuments. The Mariae Heimsuchung pilgrimage chapel, also known as the Jochbergwald Chapel, is protected as well. For a culture-focused itinerary, you can include these distinct named sites: a parish church with a cemetery and a pilgrimage chapel.
At the Kupferplatte Show Mine, the restored mine train takes visitors 150 metres into the tunnel. A guide explains various mining methods, tools and tunnel facilities. The ride and the explanations offer two specific ways to explore mining: travelling into the tunnel and learning about its working methods and facilities.
