Skiing in Italy: the slopes of Valle di Fassa

One of the most famous ski regions of Italy, Valle di Fassa, is preparing to meet the current winter season fully prepared. The Italians are in hurry to learn Russian language.

Valle di Fassa is a ski area in Italy, which consists of several small ski resorts: Canazei, Moena and others. Ski holidays in Valle di Fassa include visiting of the famous Sela Ronda, a circular aerial cableway, which runs around several peaks of the Dolomites. Recently the dignity of local slopes and panoramic views has been appreciated by the tourists from Russia and CIS countries.

The number of Russian tourists in the resorts of Valle di Fassa is steadily growing. For example, 12% from the total number of skiers last year were Russians. Tourists from Russia on a mass in the Valle di Fassa occupy third place, having passed forward only Germans and Poles. Such figures are provided by trentinocorrierealpi.it.

Given the popularity of the ski resorts in the region of Italy among the Russians, Valle di Fassa authorities decided to organize a special Russian language courses for specialists working in the field of tourist services. According to the resort officials the past year was already marked by shortage of trainers speaking Russian. Many tourists come to Valle di Fassa with children. And if for communicating with the older English was quite enough for instructors, in teaching kids the language barrier arose.

Therefore, starting from October 5 in Vigo di Fassa, one of the main resorts of Valle di Fassa, for representatives of the tourism industry will be opened a special language program, where will be taught basics of Russian. Courses will be held until November 4.
