Le Chenit is a Swiss municipality in the canton of Vaud and in the Jura-Nord vaudois District. The municipality is located in the Jura Mountains west of Lac de Joux and occupies the western part of the Vallée de Joux.

The entire municipal area lies within the Jura vaudois Regional Nature Park. The municipality includes 6,583 hectares of forest, including the Grand Risoux. A statistic from 2014 ranked Le Chenit fourth in Switzerland in terms of forested area.
