Winegrowing

The first bottle marketed under the name Humagne rouge appeared in Leytron in 1946. Humagne rouge is Leytron’s emblematic grape variety. Humagne blanc is grown exclusively in Valais, particularly in Leytron, where the grape variety covers around 3 hectares. Humagne Blanche de Leytron is a regional specialty.

Culture
The municipal cultural commission was reestablished in April 2024 to develop program offerings and revitalize the Ancienne Eglise as a community space. Li Brindèyeü dè Laïtron preserves the local Patois and Leytron’s heritage through folklore, singing, and Patois activities.
Landscape
The region around Leytron is considered to be surrounded by the steep rock faces of Ardévaz. A cycle route runs parallel to the Salentse through meadows and coniferous forests. As the route approaches Ovronnaz, it offers views of the Grand Muveran.
Places to Visit
The Farinet footbridge crosses the Salentze Gorge near Leytron. The Alpage d’Odonne is a family mountain pasture in the municipality of Leytron, renovated in 2024 at an altitude of 1,600 m. It can be reached on foot in less than an hour from the holiday resort of Ovronnaz. The Alpage d’Odonne offers meals, product sales, and cheese-making workshops. The vineyards around Leytron can be explored on foot or by bicycle.
