Geographical setting

Campo is a small settlement at the entrance to Val di Campo, a side valley of the upper Blenio Valley. It lies on the Fiume d’Orsàira, where the side valley opens into the main valley.

Campo is located at approximately 1,215 metres above sea level. The former municipality extended from 1,022 to 3,022 metres. It largely corresponds to Val di Campo, a side valley on the right-hand side of the upper Blenio Valley.

Mountains and paths

The head of the valley above Campo rises to the peaks of Pizzo del Corvo and La Bianca; Pizzo del Corvo reaches 3,015 metres, while La Bianca reaches 2,893 metres. Both peaks define the upper end of the valley above the settlement.

As a mountain path and mule track, the route crosses Cristallina Pass, passes by Lago Retico, and continues towards the Lukmanier route in Upper Graubünden.
