Landscape
The main settlement is a cross-shaped, linear village on this terrace above the confluence of the Arieschbach and Landquart. The municipality's wider landscape extends from the Landquart to the watershed towards Schanfigg and includes the extensive alpine areas of the Fideriser Heuberge. Together with the peaks of Mattjisch Horn and Chistenstein, they form the head of the valley.
