Hiking

Well-maintained hiking trails in the Bipper Jura lead through flower meadows, shady forest paths, and to viewpoints.

The trails of the Legends Trail begin at the foothills of the Jura in Attiswil, Wiedlisbach, Oberbipp, and Niederbipp and lead to the ridge of the first Jura range.

The Bipper Jura hiking area can be reached via the Oberbipp or Wiedlisbach stations; bus connections continue to the Jura villages.

History

A taxable glass industry is documented in Wolfisberg for the year 1491; slag remains have been preserved as archaeological finds.

Charcoal burning is documented for 1597 in Wolfisberg's high forest on the Leberberg.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, sewing blouses for textile factories in Wangen an der Aare was part of the home-based work carried out in Wolfisberg.

According to a local legend, the residents of Wolfisberg believed that a treasure could be found in the rocks near Hellchöpfli.
