Axalp: Hotels and Accommodation
Axalp combines a family-friendly ski area with the Axiland children's ski park and practice lifts. In the winter sports area, one chairlift and three drag lifts provide access to around 15 kilometres of groomed pistes with varying levels of difficulty.

Winter
Axalp's winter activities include cross-country skiing, winter hiking and sledging. Three signposted routes are available for snowshoe tours; they begin at the Axalp-Sportbahnen bus stop.
For sledging, there is a challenging 3-kilometre run as well as an easy run over 300 metres. Sledges can be rented at the ticket office of the chairlift's valley station.
Landscape
Axalp lies at an altitude of 1,535 metres above sea level on a plateau above Lake Brienz. The village is also situated on a terrace high above Lake Brienz and offers views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
The swing next to the Windegg chairlift station offers a panoramic experience above Lake Brienz.
Nature
Hinterburgseeli and its surroundings are a nature reserve. The adventure trail from Axalp to Hinterburgseeli passes around 100 carved figures and takes about one hour.
The AXI Trail begins at the Windegg chairlift station and includes stations about the region's flora and fauna. Guided hikes on the Tschingelfeld alp provide insight into alpine farming and include an Älpler lunch.
Getting There
The PostBus route to Axalp, route 155, connects Brienz with Axalp. From Brienz, Axalp can be reached by PostBus or private car in around 35 minutes.
All PostBus services on the Axalp route are wheelchair accessible; a reservation is required.
On Site
Fishing in the area is restricted to the tenant or alpine farmer. At Hinterburgseeli, visitors are asked to use only the designated fire pits.
